"Everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not act on them, will be like a foolish
man who built his house on the sand." Matthew 7:26
Daily Express: Sometimes we attempt to build a life on foundations that will not stand the test of time. Perhaps we try to cheat, or find shortcuts. In the end, we only cheat ourselves.
There is a story of a man who had been a contractor for many, many years.
He had a daughter who was going to marry a young contractor. So, the man
thought, “I’ve had it tough. I’ve worked so many years and I don’t want
this young couple to have the tough times I have had in my life.” So he
decided to do something for the couple.
He went to the young man and said, “Son, I want you to build me a house;
more than a house. I want you to build me a mansion. I want it to be the
best house that has ever been built. Use the best materials. Take your
time. Whatever the cost, you build me this house, and make sure you put a
good profit in it for yourself.”
The boy said, “Okay, I’ll do it.” The minute the father’s back was turned,
he said, “Now, I have the chance to make a killing. I’m going to put
together a house very quickly.” And he did so. He used inferior products
and put it together as quickly as possible.
After two months, he went back to the father and told him the house was
ready. The father said, “Already? Did you use the best materials you could
The boy said, “Yes sir!”
The father asked, “Did you use the finest appliances you could possibly
The boy said, “Yes sir!”
The father said, “Well, how much is the bill?” The boy presented him with
an inflated bill, and the father wrote out a check. The father then said,
“Where is the deed?” The boy looked in his briefcase and handed him the
deed. The father paused and said, “I’ve had a hard time in my life. And I
wanted to make sure that you wouldn’t have a hard time in your life. So,
here’s the deed. You built the house for yourself.”
Isn’t that always the way it is?
We build the house (of life) for ourselves.
Right now, you are in the construction business. You are building a life.
A great life is built one day at a time. Have you put the best materials into it you
Or are you thinking about cheating life?
Getting by with shortcuts?
Making a killing?
If so, in our final days, we realize we have only fooled ourselves, and
wish we had it to do all over again.
Ask God to help you do everything right, treat others the right way, and you will find the
good you send forth stands up to the test of time.
When life asks me to be strong, bold, and courageous I need to turn within in prayer.
I do so now.
I pray that my mind aligns itself spiritually with the Christ.
When I am in perfect alignment spiritually everything must come out victoriously.
When I go to you dear God, I enter into a treasure house of the infinite ways and means.
The solution to my every challenge is accessible through You.
I now consent in prayer to aligning myself with the power of the Christ Mind.
With God's help I am equipped to be greater than any challenge or obstacle I may face.
I now align myself spiritually with Christ power, and with an undaunted courage
I surmount all obstacles facing me.
In Jesus Christ's name… Amen
I place all my affairs in the keeping of God,
and God prospers me in all ways.
